WinAntivirusPro 3.7 Removal Tool (Win Antivirus Pro)
WinAntivirusPro 3.7 is a new reincarnation of well-known Xp AntiVirus rogue anti-spyware. They have the similiar interface and misleading detection mechanism. WinAntivirusPro 3.7 will generate popups to scare users and force to buy full version of this useless scamware. Remember that WinAntivirusPro 3.7 can’t remove any of reported threats. This program is just a dummy but with some dangerous features. For example it can open browser exploits and install additional malware or steal personal data like logins and passwords, credit card numbers e.t.c. We recomend to use automatical removal tool to get rid of this malware.
This thing popped up with a notice that it was installing. Since I had not downloaded the program,I didn’t do anything, but did run my antivirus program, which removed the trojans, and rebooted. The computer didn’t run right, so I shut down the computer, took the drive out and connected it to my laptop via usb, and run antivirus again, and there were two trogans again, which were removed. Several programs became non-responsive, and I had to close them. I then rebooted the laptop and deleted all the temporary internet files and the program. Hope that solves the problem.
This thing is MUCH WORSE than the previous iterations of WAVP. I ran into it on a customer’s computer two days ago. Unfortunately, they had been duped into buying the full version and installing it on two computers (Ugh). Both were XP-Pro, SP2, running in a workgroup. Combofix, Smitfraudfix, Spybot, AVG, Rogueremover, and Blacklight scans all found and removed portions. I also hand-removed about a dozen errant dlls & exes from the system32 directory under recovery console.
After all was done, the computer ran without any visible trace of the scourge, but the file permissions were all scrambled. I ran secedit, as well as a reg script from KarensKorner, to no avail. I could run programs by right-clicking and choosing “runas” then unchecking the box “protect my computer”, but I couldn’t find a way to turn off that option globally.
Finally, I did a repair install, which “mostly” fixed things. Almost everything works ok, although Spybot still needs the “runas” trick.
On the second computer, I cut my losses and went straight to a full format/reinstall (no data to save, luckily) I’ve downloaded and saved the remover posted above in case I run into this again, I sure hope it works!
I had this stupid WinAntivirusPro pop up so many times and I refuse to buy it because any professional company would not force you to buy something if it were truly legit. I would never fall for something so stupid, I chose another alternative to remove the pop up.
I hate this fucking piece of garbage shit. It found a way on my comp, and installed itself. Not sure about downloading this remover, it might be the same thing, or worse >__> Anybody recommend downloading? It pops up a lot, and just installed itself today. I went to the program files, and tried to delete it, but it didn’t let me. Hopefully this shit will die. I had this other thing that was the same thing, and couldn’t rid of it, hopefully it’ll be gone soon enough trend micro ftw.
